#1 - Finally I am able to blog!!!

Finally after two and a half weeks, I am able to blog!!

This is where we are staying for the month of January. There are three apartments in the building. Thank goodness no one is above us. We are used to peace and quiet. It is pretty strange to look out of our windows and see houses and people walking by all of the time. Max is not impressed and keeps letting us know of the stranger danger.

We actually left home on Dec.31st and drove to the Marriott in Brantford where we stayed for the night. Nice suit with a kitchen etc. Breakfast came in a cardboard box for safety. Not sure who wants to eat two hard boiled eggs for breakfast but they were included in the box!!! When we arrived Ray took Max out of the car for a walk, he had been in the car for four hours without a break and my job was to unload the car onto the luggage dolly. I whipped open the back hatch and oopps, Ray's backpack containing his new computer fell onto the driveway. Not a good thing to happen at all.....

When we left the next morning, same routine, Ray walks Max and I load the car and this time....when I  opened the hatch out fell Ray's new electric guitar and it bounced on the driveway similarly to the computer. Since the computer worked after, I figured the guitar would too. And it did!!!!

If you squint your eyes down the road, you may be able to see Lake Erie. There is a large park on the left at the lake and a couple of days after we arrived we actually got an inch of snow and the park was crammed with tobogganers!!! It was hilarious!!!

Let me give you a quick tour. Living room with the Cleopatra couch that I sat on once and had to roll off of onto the floor to get out of!!!

These are the two second hand chairs I bought to solve the couch problem.

This is the dining room table that used to be at the other end of the room but we moved it as is was squishy and the heat from above did not make for dining enjoyment. Also known as the computer centre. There is an office off to the right but I commandeered the desk for my jigsaw puzzle centre. Ray actually thought we would use the office as an office but alas it was not to be..... You can also see into the kitchen which has no upper cupboards and therefore necessitates having our food stored on top of this cupboard affair. Interesting. We had seen this apartment in September when we were here scouting out a place and thought these small details would be finished by January......LOL!!!

A mattress of memory foam. I am almost at a loss for words. Whoever dreamed up this bright idea??? If you sit on the side of the bed before you lie down, the mattress remembers your imprint so when you lie down there is a tendency to roll out onto the floor. Once you get located in the sleep position and this wonderful mattress remembers you, it is like trying to roll over on a floor it is so hard. As you can tell, I am not impressed!!!

I would call this a galley bathroom. I've been on sailboats with more room!!! We actually like living here except for a few details. We are leaving on January 31st for a very different experience in the town of Essex.

This is probably the largest dog park we have ever been too. Thank goodness there was an area for little dogs and one for large. I'd hate to see Max eat some little dog thinking that he had finally got a squirrel!!! He had a great time and we sat and shivered on a bench.

We saw this driving home from the dog park. I just love it. A tree of joy!!!

I could rant about this pic but I won't. The sky is blue and the sun is shining. It is a good day!!!!

This lovely sign is lit at night and sits at the four corners in downtown Kingsville. Our house is about two long blocks from downtown. Kingsville is a delightful town and we are enjoying our stay here. There is no snow on the ground and that is a good thing!!!
I'll try to write every Monday for the rest of the winter and keep you entertained!!! 8
